A denture is a removable device with teeth made of porcelain or resin, that can be placed inside the mouth to replace a single tooth or several missing teeth. Dentures can be made as partial or as full dentures, depending on the need. A partial denture will fit in between existing teeth. For instance let’s say you have 2 missing teeth due to some accident. A partial denture of 2 teeth can be fixed in this gap. Similarly a full denture can be made, which will effectively replace all the teeth on your jaw.

Full dentures can be made for both upper and lower jaws. Dentures are durable and can be fixed if broken.

The appropriate denture type is decided based on the current condition of your jaw and teeth. Your dentist will then make several impressions of your jaw using a mold. Along with this mold, other factors such as the position of the upper and lower jaws are also noted.
